Green Team

Green Team of the Politecnico di Torino is a HUB for collecting expertise and skills regarding to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, in the university field.

It is composed of a group of more than 60 professors, researchers and technical-administrative staff from all the structures of the University, as well as representatives of students and the Board of Governors.

The aim of the Team is to promote the integration of sustainable development issues within university research, teaching, communication, and all supporting activities, to prepare students and all staff members to approach to the Challenges set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Green Team activities are organized in specific Working Groups, coordinated by University Managers, according to vertical lines of action on the topics of energy and buildings energy efficiency, climate change, sustainable mobility, resources (food, water and waste), education, inclusion and equity, and communication and knowledge sharing.

Vertical actions are complemented by cross-cutting engagement actions to support the University's "third mission" goals.

The Green Team is supported by an Office that coordinates the implementation of the different activities of the working groups.

At the national level, the Green Team actively participates in the initiatives of the RUS, the Italian Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, of which it has assumed since 2019 the presidency and the coordination of the Working Group dedicated to the theme of Energy.

The Green Team also joins the initiatives of ASVIS, the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, which includes more than 160 organizations from the economic and social world and promotes the Festival of Sustainable Development every year, focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and on the transversal dimensions that shape the 2030 Agenda.

Internationally, the Politecnico di Torino, through the activities of the Green Team, is involved in the ISCN Networks, the International Sustainable Campus Network, and in the SDSN, the Sustainable Development Solution Network.
